My New Cricut Cake

I was very excited to finally get to play with my new cake machine!! I really don't know much about decorating cakes. I am the box cake mix and tub of frosting and call it good kind of girl! That is why I am so excited to have the cake, I finally might be able to do cute cakes!! I didn't push myself to far on my first attempts. I used plain frosting and icing sheets.
My picture isn't the best and I thought
the letters would be okay by themselves. It is not my favorite but hey it's my first one!
I used Old West Cartridge and cut my letters at 2 inches.

Here is the 2nd cake I did.
My friend that I made the bracelets for last week had her baby on tuesday. So I took them a little treat.
I like how this one turned out much better. I layered my letters and they stood out much better on the chocolate frosting. I used the B is for Boy Cricut Lite Cartridge. I added the ribbon around the edge because it had the same colors I used on the letters.  My husband thought I was crazy for putting the ribbon on because it wasn't edible, he liked it after it was on!!

I'm the same kind of cake girl! My mom and I share a cake machine (and by share, I mean she bought it, and I get to play with it!). I definitely just break open the box, slap the frosting on, and get to the good part...the decorating!!

just a tip for you. you can tape your ribbon on piece of wax paper. Trim the wax paper to size of ribbon. This way your ribbon won't soak up the grease from the frosting. You will be doing a bang up job before you know it.

Great job on the cakes, can't wait to see more. I find the frosting sheets tear to easy and the fondant is easier to work with.

I think they turned out terrific. My daughter works as a decorator for one of our local super markets. I keep thinking we NEED the cake machine to create special treats! Your projects inspired us.

Looks like these letters cut really well for you. I thought I wanted a Cake until I saw people having so much trouble getting things to cut well. It made me doubtful about investing in it- but it looks like your first attempt may prove it's not so difficult after all! Thanks for sharing this.

So you are inspiring me to buy the cake machine. I've been going back and forth for a while on it, but the more I see it ....the more I like it! Oh and the B is for BOY cartridge....I totally want it. I love the font. Oh and the ribbon you put on the cake was a great idea. Great job ;0)
