I am a mom of four cute kids (if I do say so myself). I have a crazy life and crafting is my ME time! My mom told me that I can't claim to be a stay at home mom even though I do a lot of work from home. So I guess I have to say that I have many jobs. I am a mom, a nurse, accountant, office manager, volleyball coach, crafter and a wife.
Here is a few ideas that I figured out for making flowers into hair accessories! I also just went to a class and learned how to make some other types of hair bows, so I will have to share what I learned there with you in another video!
Very cute idea!! My neighbor gave me a bunch of ribbon and stuff she did not use anymore and she had a bunch of those clips in the bag, so now I know what to do with them!!
OH I wish I had a little girl to make these for! I have one 3 yr old boy and another on the way. I am definately going to try this though! Thank you so much for the video, got some great ideas!
I love making these ALTHOUGH I have not put them in my daughters hair yet cause she is so young and small. I bought the colorful flowers with stems at Hobby Lobby and they may be a little cheaper.. Just an FYI... Good Job... Love it. And I would LOVE to see the other bows you learned how to make only because I make hairbows so I want to see if it is the same kind.. :D
I've been making these for my daughters this summer. I like to use an extra large brad in the center - you can even find sparkly ones. The only place I use any glue is to attach the flower (with brad attached) to the hair clip. My girls do much better with the french clips than the alligator clips.
I'm wanting to try using my iTop fabric covered brads in the center - I just keep running out of time!
OMG THANK YOU!!! I've been trying to figure out how to make them because I normally buy them from someone who makes them, but now, I'll make them myself =) THANKS SOOOO MUCH! You just made me a huge fan!
Your timing for this tutorial was just perfect. My daughter had an adorable little flower in my granddaughters hair that she paid an outrageous amoiunt of money for and I was just wondering if I could make them! Thanks for figuring it out for all of us!
Karlee...very nice video. I bought the alligator clips a while ago to make some and I totally forgot. Thanks to you now I have to try one, lol. I do not have any girls around but me, so I will make one for me :P
Great idea w/the brad ... maybe glue a small piece of ribbon over the brad so it doesn't snag in the hair (something we fight all the time - hair snaggles!!
omgosh!!! i've been working on a couple different types of barettes like this for some craft shows this fall and never though about using brads, GENIOUS! also you might want to check out local beauty supply stores. i got 100 of those clips for $6 dollars a few weeks ago.
Precious . You should go to my photos on my FB in my sewing center and look at my hair bows , covered head bands and flower barrettes I made. I have made them for forty years for everyone and my two daughters and now my three granddaughters. Always loved and will always love sewing and crafting for my children and grandchildren. You did a great job and keep it up. Love to watch your videos.
What a great idea! I get so tired of buying expensive bows because my two year old takes them out of her hair and figures out the best way to dismember them! lol Now I can do this! Thank you so much!
I like that you took the center out of the flower... never thought of that. I just make mine using the whole flower, but now I realize I can alter it. Thanks so much.
